With Porporatto as interpreter for the Czech Baranek, the first training of UPCN was a real cultural exchange, as the team that started training for the new season welcomed also players from Brazil, Colombia and of course, Argentina, too.
In the first meeting of the team, one of the outstanding news was the welcome of the Czech player, Kamil Baranek, a powerful 27 years old player, 1.98 meters tall that joint the new San Juan project.
The European player, who does not talk any Spanish, will play for the first time a League outside his continent and was also accompanied by the new Alex Moreno, the opposite Colombian player, 29 years old and 1.99 meters tall, with them using their hands to explain the different weight exercises that had to do with warming up.
After training Baranek worked with Gustavo Porporatto, as they were playing mates at the French team. Talking in a strange French, some Italian, “Porpo” started talking with him and help the Media to ask him questions. The same will happen while on the field with Gustavo “translating” the coaching instructions until Kamil learns some Spanish. Yesterday, Baranek smiled several times and added with his head when someone of the coaching team expressed something.
Baranek is the second Czech player that arrived this season to the country after Dalivor Polak played for Bolivar in the year 2004. The player now is part of the Czech National Men Team and last season played for the Iraklis Salonic from Greece. Prior to that he played for Stade Poitevin VB Poitiers, as playing mate of Porporatto, considered the best team spiker playing the final series of the seasons 2007 and 2008.
About Baranek arrival, who was also contacted by Greek and Italian players, his new coach, Fabian Armoa expressed: “We hope that he gets the Argentine rhythm as soon as possible because he is a very powerful player that knows how to head matches and used to definitive matches”.
In UPCN they are very confident with this new team that will try to repeat, at least, last season performance when they arrived to the Final Series. Baranek travelled to San Juan with his wife.
