If anyone asks me what comes to my mind when I think of paradise, I think, I’ll say that I think of a place with beer taps and loads of cute puppies running around.
I mean, is there anything else in this world that’ll make you happier? Have you ever gone home to a dog? Have you ever enjoyed a sip of ‘cool beer’ on a blistering day?
And so if someone tells you that there is paradise on earth, think of this Scottish beer company.
A firm that goes by the name of ‘BrewDog’ gives new dog owners in their company a week of paid leave.
And if that wasn’t enough, they also allow their employees to bring their dogs to work.
And not just that. They all also animals in all their bars around the world.
Launched in 2007, the company is headed by James Watt, Martin Dickie and their pet dog.
They proudly call it a week of ‘Puppy Parental Leave’.
They will soon start offering this service at their soon-to-be-opened Ohio brewery. At their current headquarters in Aberdeenshire, the company already has 50 dogs that they believe are part of the team. The founders didn’t want their dogs to suffer while they were at work, and therefore they kickstarted this initiative.
‘So we are becoming the first in our industry to give our staff to help settle a new furry family member into their home,’ the pair said in a company announcement.
BrewDog is one of the world’s fastest growing artisan beer companies and has grown from having two staff with as many investors in 2007 to a global team of 540 in 2015.
It now has 32,000 shareholders and has broken equity crowdfunding records.
