Big Cass has been removed from his Money in the Bank qualifying match for storyline reasons, changing the way the last entrant in the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match will be determined.
SmackDown GM Paige made the announcement on Twitter this morning. She wrote that due to a (storyline) injury, Big Cass was out of his match with Samoa Joe for this Tuesday’s SmackDown that would have determined the final entrant. Instead, Daniel Bryan and Jeff Hardy will get a second chance match tomorrow on SmackDown. The winner of that match will face Samoa Joe in two weeks to determine who will advance to the Money in the Bank ladder match.
Cass was attacked last week by Daniel Bryan after repeatedly mocking him and provoking him. Bryan focused on Cass’ leg during the attack and sent Cass packing. Since then, Cass has been selling the injury throughout the course of the European tour, usually being helped to the back by officials to sell the injury.
Money in the Bank will take place at the Allstate Arena in Chicago, Illinois on June 17.
