We are the millennial generation. We are the ones who eat, sleep, work, repeat. Though we love our lives where our jobs are consuming us day in and day out, we also love the leisure time we spend with our loved ones. Talking about love, Valentine’s Week is here and while the world is out there planning dates with their partners, we are stuck, right here in front of our screens, thanks to our busy schedules.
Now, there are two types of couples in this world. The first category belongs to the ones who wholeheartedly celebrate V-day and the second category belongs to those who don’t make a big deal out of it. If you are in a new it’s-all-a-honeymoon-phase relationship, you probably belong to the first category and if you’ve been dating someone for years, you’ve probably had your share of V-day celebrations, hence the second category. The only two things common to both these categories though are, first, the never-ending love partners have for each, and second, the hectic work schedules.
14th February, this year is on a weekday, which kinda ruins your work routine, right? So, here we are, with a perfect guide for celebrating V-day for the millennial couple.
1. Fill Their Social Media With Love Comics
The internet is buzzing with some super fun memes and love comics. So, find the most relatable ones and post them on your partner’s social media profile. It’ll remind them of you. There’s no harm in a little bit of social media PDA, right?
2. Surprise Them With Flowers
If you can’t physically meet your partner, send them their favourite flowers with a cutesy note on the side and surprise them. It will definitely make them feel special.
3. Have Dinner Together
With hectic schedules, it becomes impossible to go out for dinner on a weekday. So instead, arrange a dinner date. Order food or cook, but make sure to eat it together. If you’re in a long-distance relationship or cannot meet for some reason, eat together on a video call. What’s Skype for?
4. Sing A Song And Send It To Them
Technology has made keeping up with relationships slightly easier. With voice notes on WhatsApp, you can sing your partner’s favourite song and send it to them. No matter how good or bad you are at singing, they’ll surely love it.
5. Make A Video For Them
Dig out old pictures from the archives, and make a quick video with a picture montage. You can choose a background song, that you and your partner have a sweet memory attached to. Small, yet an adorable gesture.
6. Write Them An Email Version Of Love Letter At Midnight
Who doesn’t love, love letters, right? It’ll take you less than ten minutes to compose a beautiful email for your loved one. Format it like a love letter and send it to them at midnight.
7. Doodle Love Art On Your Phone
We all have Instagram, Snapchat on our phones, and there are even mobile apps that let you doodle on your phone. Create something fun and send it to them. It’s silly yet cute.
8. Send Them Food
For there’s no love greater than the love for food. Order your partner’s favourite dish and get it delivered to their office, we are sure they’ll appreciate it more than anything else.
9. Take An Off & Show Up
Well, the best surprise is to show up, right? If your job and schedule allow, take an off and show up at your partner’s doorstep with flowers and chocolates. They are going to love it.
